Andrea Zambelli

Prior to joining Novalpina, Andrea was a Managing Director of the Corporate Securities team at CarVal Investors, a global alternative investment manager focused on distressed and credit-intensive assets, where he was responsible since 2008 for distressed and illiquid corporate investments in Europe, with a focus on the European insolvency practice, including multi-jurisdictional corporate liquidations such as Lehman Brothers, distressed claims trading and litigation-related investment strategies.

Before CarVal Investors, Andrea worked at Citigroup Global Markets, most recently as Director within the Special Situations Group corporate team, where he was responsible for sourcing, analysing and investing in European single name distressed opportunities. Before that, he was a VP since 2003 of the NPL portfolio investment team, where he analysed and structured principal investments in distressed loan portfolios. Before that, Andrea was a fixed income research Associate at Salomon Brothers, a Citigroup company, where he developed bond trading and portfolio optimisation strategies.

Prior to Citigroup, Andrea worked at Paribas, first in US M&A and later within the fixed income division in London.

Andrea received an MSc in Financial Markets and Institutions from Bocconi University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
